At Shawnee, memories last forever for 378
As 378 Shawnee High School students soaked in their final moments as Renegades, class president Jaime Toll reminded her classmates that their memories will last forever.
“Today we send a letter that we began writing four years ago,” she said. “The return address on all of them is 600 Tabernacle Road. The forward address is different on all of them. Some will go to universities, some will go to a foreign country to fight for our freedom and some will stay right here in Medford. You can open that envelope any time you need a memory... It will be there for you.”
Several memories were recalled last night as Shawnee held its graduation ceremony on the school's football field for the Class of 2008. Some of those memories included academic achievements as well as extracurricular ones...

School budget passes
It is with great pleasure - and a measure of relief - that I share the good news that the majority of voters in the Lenape Regional High School District yesterday approved the 2008/2009 budget. On behalf of the board of education and administration I thank you and all of the Alumni Ambassadors for supporting the budget and, more importantly, for your unwavering commitment to the Lenape Regional District and our mission to provide a stellar education to our students.
As I’m sure you may know, this is the first time voters approved the district’s budget in the past seven years. Bolstered by a 10 percent increase in state aid - the first significant increase in many years - combined with a decrease in regional school taxes in five of the district’s eight communities, we were optimistic that this would be the year to stem the tide of failed budgets. I’m elated and I know that it was possible only through the dedication and hard work of the community, particularly those individuals who have gone the extra mile as Lenape Regional Ambassadors.
The administration and board made a special effort to reach out to all our constituents to be sure everyone was educated about the budget, to address any concerns and answer questions. This is just the beginning of renewed open communication with groups and individuals to keep them informed and involved about the district throughout the year.
If you have any questions or concerns about the approved budget, please do not hesitate to contact Business Administrator Jim Hager, 609-268-2000, ext. 5535 or me, 609-268-2000, ext. 5545. We appreciate your feedback and input.
Again, thank you!
